Jones believes in making a difference...a real difference.  Senior Vice President/Chief Lending Officer of Newfield National Bank in Newfield, Jones is responsible for the daily operation of the bank's lending function and serves on the independent community bank's Asset Liability Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and Senior Loan Committee. Read more

Happy St. Baldrick's Day!

Sabrina LoBue held Lauren Thompson's hand as Thompson's blonde, curly hair fell like snowflakes around their feet. It takes real guts, LoBue thought, to go bald.

"Standing up there, holding Lauren's hand, I got chills," LoBue says of the bravery and commitment Thompson displayed as she participated in St. Baldrick's Day, a mass head-shaving event by Rowan students that raised a whopping $13,554.03 for pediatric cancer research. Read more

The Rowan University football team will hold its third annual Get In The Game. Save A Life. Be The Match Registry on Tuesday, April 26 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the University's Chamberlain Student Center Pit. Read more

Of Whaling, Pilgrims and Custer

Nathaniel Philbrick learned something strange when he moved to Nantucket, the small Massachusetts island that launched Herman Melville's Moby Dick: Melville had never even been there.

Addressing a Rowan audience as part of the President's Lecture Series March 23, Philbrick chuckled at the oddity, marveling at the power of good writing and Melville's ability to imagine the dank, salty burg so believably. Read more

Men's Soccer Player Charlie Cunliffe receives NCAA postgraduate scholarship

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Rowan University goalkeeper Charlie Cunliffe was selected to receive a NCAA postgraduate scholarship.

The scholarships, each totaling $7,500, were awarded to 29 male and 29 female student-athletes from fall sports. The total number of winners stands at 174 individuals from the winter, spring and fall seasons. In order to be eligible, student-athletes must excel academically and athletically, be in their final year of eligibility and plan to attend graduate school. In addition, the nominees had to have at least a 3.2 grade point average (GPA). Read more
